I went to the theater feeling hesitant about having to see a black & white, silent film and in the end I was actually pleasantly surprised. I thought the film was a great break from the normal, mainstream movies that have been coming out lately. The director did a fantastic job of making this film feel like it was made in the 1920's, and for 100 minutes or so, It almost felt as if I was in that time period. However, there were a few quirks, such as the dream with sound, that were extremely creative and I thought they brought us back to the present, at least for a moment. The acting was good and the cinematography was very close to the old style. I would give this film a 4 out of 5.
